Maybe we all think it, maybe as recently as last week, when you were gathered around th Thanksgiving table, but it takes the Germans to come up with a word for it.  

Of course the Soviets, Russians have a word for that.

This is a concept for which every language should have term.  I have heard it described as the "Sevareid Principle," named after newsman Eric Sevareid who wrote, "The chief cause of problems is solutions."
